In 2020-2021, 13,766 people earned their degree in fire protection, making the major the 118th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, fire protection graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $53,963 and had an average of $19,479 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 310 fire protection graduates with average earnings and debt of $63,046 and $22,890 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Fire Protection” ranking analyzed 12 colleges that offered a degree in fire protection. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent fire protection programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
