In 2019-2020, 12,008 people earned their degree in anthropology, making the major the 77th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, anthropology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $24,661 and had an average of $23,289 in loans still to pay off.

At the associate degree level specifically, there were 1,031 anthropology graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Anthropology Schools for an Associate” ranking looked at 13 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in anthropology. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great anthropology programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
