Social Sciences is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 5th of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 205,984 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, social sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $36,262 and had an average of $23,306 in loans still to pay off.

Across South Carolina, there were 1,881 social sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $29,371 and $27,410 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in South Carolina for Social Sciences” ranking looked at 16 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in social sciences. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great social sciences programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

The Citadel is a public institution located in Charleston, South Carolina. The school has a small population, and it awarded 60 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

The Citadel did well in our major quality rankings, too. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in South Carolina for Social Sciences. UofSC is a large public school situated in Columbia, South Carolina. It awarded 443 ’s social sciences degrees in 2020-2021.
