For this year's Best Social Sciences Colleges for Non-Traditional Students ranking, we looked at 430 colleges that offer a bachelor's in social sciences. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent social sciences programs, but they also offer a lot of support to non-traditional students.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the social sciences program at the school, affordability, and presence of non-traditional students. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

New York University has taken the #1 spot in this year's social sciences ranking for non-traditional students. Located in the city of New York, NYU is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population. NYU also made our Best Colleges for Social Sciences list, coming in at #7.

The student loan default rate at NYU is lower than is typical, just 2.2% of students default in three years. Approximately 2,264 students take at least one class online at NYU. About 8,707 of the students at NYU are attending part time.
