In 2019-2020, 12,645 people earned their degree in human services, making the major the 74th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, human services graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $30,302 and had an average of $28,284 in loans still to pay off.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 6,126 human services graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Human Services Schools for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 105 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in human services. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great human services programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
