In 2020-2021, 58,326 people earned their degree in social work, making the major the 13th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, social work graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $37,651 and had an average of $26,679 in loans still to pay off.

Across Idaho, there were 563 social work graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,832 and $27,649 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Idaho for Social Work” ranking, we looked at 5 colleges that offer a degree in social work. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great social work programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Boise State University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Idaho for Social Work. Boise, Idaho is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s social work degrees to 306 students in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our idaho vets studying social work list, Boise State has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, Boise State supports 24,069 students, and 1,134 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 798 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,559. To help with additional expenses, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Boise State offers credit for military training for eligible students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Northwest Nazarene University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Idaho for Social Work list. Nampa, Idaho is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s social work degrees to 68 students in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at NNU, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 2,109 students enrolled at Northwest Nazarene University, 80 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 57 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $10,130. On top of their other funding sources, 5 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Northwest Nazarene University does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

ISU did well in our major quality rankings, too. As a testament to the quality of education offered at Lewis - Clark State College, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 3,856 students enrolled at Lewis - Clark State College, 168 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of the 5 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Idaho for Social Work that were part of this year’s ranking, Brigham Young University - Idaho landed the #5 spot on the list. BYU - I is a large school located in Rexburg, Idaho that handed out 56 ’s social work degrees in 2020-2021.

BYU - I did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Among the 44,481 students enrolled at Brigham Young University - Idaho, 471 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 200 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $2,677. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Brigham Young University - Idaho offers credit for military training for eligible students.
