In 2019-2020, theological and ministerial studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $40,590 and had an average of $26,272 in loans still to pay off.

Across Texas, there were 794 theological and ministerial studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $44,922 and $30,317 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Theology” ranking looked at 9 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in theological and ministerial studies. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent theological and ministerial studies programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Southern Methodist University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Theology. Located in Dallas, Texas, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 79 degrees to qualified ’s theology students in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at SMU, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 12,373 students enrolled at SMU, 327 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Houston Baptist University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Houston, Texas. The school has a small population, and it awarded 43 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
