Industrial Design is the 290th most popular major in the country with 1,879 degrees awarded in 2019-2020.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,584 industrial design graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Product Design Schools for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 53 colleges that offered a degree in industrial design. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality industrial design programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the industrial design program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. See our ranking methodology to learn more.
