In 2019-2020, 1,879 people earned their degree in industrial design, making the major the 290th most popular in the United States.

At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 233 industrial design graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value Product Design Schools for a Master’s” ranking, we looked at 17 colleges that offer a degree in industrial design. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality industrial design programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
