It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Film” ranking is part of that endeavor.

In 2020-2021, 16,778 people earned their degree in film, video and photographic arts, making the major the 62nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, film, video and photographic arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $24,170 and had an average of $25,804 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 1,036 film, video and photographic arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $23,676 and $29,396 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Film” ranking looked at 24 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in film, video and photographic arts. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent film, video and photographic arts programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the film, video and photographic arts program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at SMU, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 12,373 students enrolled at SMU, 327 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
