2022 Best Value Visual Arts Schools for an Associate
It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for students. College Factual has developed its “Best Value Visual Arts Schools for an Associate” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2019-2020, 6,359 people earned their degree in general visual and performing arts, making the major the 125th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, general visual and performing arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $24,577 and had an average of $26,968 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 1,734 general visual and performing arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Visual Arts Schools for an Associate” ranking analyzed 24 colleges that offered a degree in general visual and performing arts. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general visual and performing arts programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the general visual and performing arts program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Bayside, New York is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s visual arts degrees to 89 students in 2019-2020.
QCC also took the #1 spot in our “Best General Visual & Performing Arts Associate Degree Schools” ranking. The yearly cost to attend Queensborough Community College is $5,050 for Associate Degree Visual Arts students.
Out of the 24 schools in the Best Value Visual Arts Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Northern Virginia Community College landed the #3 spot on the list. Northern Virginia Community College is located in Annandale, Virginia and, has a large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 36 associates’s visual arts degrees to qualified students.
