2022 Best Value Music Schools for an Associate
With all of the options students have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. Our “Best Value Music Schools for an Associate” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Music is the 40th most popular major in the country with 27,047 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, music graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $25,639 and had an average of $28,653 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 2,451 music graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Music Schools for an Associate” ranking analyzed 58 colleges that offered a degree in music. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great music programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the music program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 58 schools in the Best Value Music Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, North Hennepin Community College landed the #2 spot on the list. This medium-sized school is located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and it awarded 4 associates’s music degrees in 2019-2020.
In addition to being on our associate degree music students list, North Hennepin Community College has also earned the #6 rank in our “Best Music Associate Degree Schools” ranking. It costs about $10,284 for Associate Degree Music students per year to attend North Hennepin Community College.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Collin County Community College District. The school came in at #3 for the Best Value Music Schools for an Associate. McKinney, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s music degrees to 8 students in 2019-2020.
Collin County Community College District also took the #9 spot in our “Best Music Associate Degree Schools” ranking. It costs about $6,293 for associate degree music students per year to attend Collin County Community College District.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend San Jacinto Community College. The school came in at #4 for the Best Value Music Schools for an Associate. San Jacinto Community College is a large public school situated in Pasadena, Texas. It awarded 11 associates’s music degrees in 2019-2020.

Grand Rapids Community College came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Music Schools for an Associate ranking. Grand Rapids Community College is a fairly large school located in Grand Rapids, Michigan that handed out 13 associates’s music degrees in 2019-2020.

University of Central Oklahoma landed the #10 spot on the 2022 Best Value Music Schools for an Associate ranking. This fairly large school is located in Edmond, Oklahoma, and it awarded 12 associates’s music degrees in 2019-2020.

With a ranking of #11, Holyoke Community College did quite well on the 2022 Best Value Music Schools for an Associate list. This small school is located in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and it awarded 1 associates’s music degrees in 2019-2020.
In addition to being on our associate degree music students list, Holyoke Community College has also earned the #20 rank in our “Best Music Associate Degree Schools” ranking. The yearly cost to attend Holyoke Community College is $7,718 for Associate Degree Music students.
County College of Morris ranked #12 on this year’s Best Value Music Schools for an Associate list. Located in Randolph, New Jersey, this medium-sized public school awarded 8 diplomas to qualified associates’s music students in 2019-2020.
