After analyzing 15 grad schools in Oregon, we came up with our list of those that offered the best master's degree programs. Instead of depending on subjective information to rank the best grad schools, we focus on objective factors in our analysis. More specifically, the following explains what we consider and why.
To determine the overall quality of a graduate school, one factor we look at is the average early-career salary of those receiving a master's degree from the school. After all, your master's degree won't mean much if it doesn't help you find a job that will help you earn a living.
Graduate students may also take on a lot of debt while working on their master's so we factor that into our rankings as well. The average debt load at a particular school may not be bad, but it's an important thing to consider in conjunction with post-graduation earnings.
In addition to average post-graduation earnings and average student debt loads, we also look at a host of other factors to determining our Best Master's Degree Schools ranking. Several other factors - such as how much the school spends on educational resources, the demand of the school, the availability of online learning options, and the student body caliber - go into our rankings.

Pacific University tops this year’s ranking as the best grad school for master’s degrees in Oregon for overall quality. This small private not-for-profit school is located in Forest Grove, Oregon, and it awarded 436 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Those who receive a master’s degree from Pacific go into careers with an average salary of $55,869 during the early years of their career.
The excellent master’s degree programs at Oregon State University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best schools in Oregon. Located in Corvallis, Oregon, the large public school handed out 1,066 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Oregon. It ranked #5 on our 2024 Best Master’s Degree Schools in Oregon list. University of Oregon is a large public school located in Eugene, Oregon that handed out 1,002 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
