When many veterans attend a school, its faculty and staff tend to be more experienced at meeting the needs of former service members. Based on VA records, there are 406 GI Bill® students at COCC. Because the school enrolls 3,577, nearly 11.4% of the student body is using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. By comparison, the Student Veterans of America reports that three to four percent of college students nationwide are veterans.
The total spans all GI Bill® chapters, including Post-9/11, Montgomery, Reserve Education Assistance, and Veteran Readiness and Employment. Earning credit for what you already know can save you time and money toward a degree. Contact COCC to find out if it grants credit for life experience, CLEP/standardized exams, or other prior learning.
Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs are not available at COCC.
