Info in This Veterans Report on GCC:
A large number of veterans attending a college means the college and faculty are more used to supporting and accommodating the needs of those with prior military experience. Based on VA records, there are 142 GI Bill® students at GCC. Because the school enrolls 1,263, roughly 11.2% of the student body is using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. As a benchmark, the Student Veterans of America puts the share of veteran college students nationwide at three to four percent.
All GI Bill® chapters are included here: Post-9/11, Montgomery, Reserve Education Assistance, and Veteran Readiness and Employment. It leaves out active-duty personnel using Tuition Assistance, meaning the total military presence may be greater.
Graduation and retention rates can tell you how well a school supports its veteran students through to a degree.
