Our Veterans Report on SWOCC:
An increased number of veterans enrolling at a particular school means that college faculty are more adept at accommodating and supporting those with previous military experience. Per VA data, there are 92 GI Bill® students at SWOCC. As the school’s total enrollment is 1,199, about 7.7% of the student body is using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. For perspective, about three to four percent of college students in the U.S. are veterans, according to the Student Veterans of America.
All GI Bill® chapters are included here: Post-9/11, Montgomery, Reserve Education Assistance, and Veteran Readiness and Employment. Active-duty military using Tuition Assistance are excluded, so the actual military population may be bigger.
How a school’s veterans persist, transfer, and graduate is a useful signal of how well it serves them.
| Outcome | Veterans | All Students |
|---|---|---|
| Graduation rate | 14.3% | 36.0% |
| Transfer-out rate | 28.6% | — |
