A large number of veterans attending a college means the college and faculty are more used to supporting and accommodating the needs of those with prior military experience. According to the VA, there are 610 GI Bill® students at UT Tyler. With a total enrollment of 7,009, around 8.7% of students are using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. UT Tyler may consider your military experience and award college credit. Ask the admissions office how this applies to you. Credit for prior learning can shorten your time to a degree, so it’s worth asking about. Check with UT Tyler about credit for life experience, CLEP and similar exams, or other prior learning beyond military training.
UT Tyler does not offer Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs.
