An increased number of veterans enrolling at a particular school means that college faculty are more adept at accommodating and supporting those with previous military experience. VA figures show 409 GI Bill® students at UChicago. Since the total enrollment at the school is 7,540, around 5.4% of students are using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. To put that into context, the Student Veterans of America estimates that roughly three to four percent of all U.S. college students are veterans.
The total spans all GI Bill® chapters, including Post-9/11, Montgomery, Reserve Education Assistance, and Veteran Readiness and Employment. Active-duty military using Tuition Assistance are excluded, so the actual military population may be bigger.

At this time, UChicago does not grant credit for military training. Earning credit for what you already know can save you time and money toward a degree. Beyond military training, ask UChicago whether it awards credit for life or work experience, CLEP exams, or other prior learning.
