When many veterans attend a school, its faculty and staff tend to be more experienced at meeting the needs of former service members. VA figures show 242 GI Bill® students at USI. As the school’s total enrollment is 5,344, approximately 4.5% of the students are using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. To put that into context, the Student Veterans of America estimates that roughly three to four percent of all U.S. college students are veterans.
All GI Bill® chapters are included here: Post-9/11, Montgomery, Reserve Education Assistance, and Veteran Readiness and Employment. It leaves out active-duty personnel using Tuition Assistance, meaning the total military presence may be greater.

Earning credit for what you already know can save you time and money toward a degree. Contact USI to find out if it grants credit for life experience, CLEP/standardized exams, or other prior learning.
