What’s Covered in Our Report on YTI:
When many veterans attend a school, its faculty and staff tend to be more experienced at meeting the needs of former service members. According to the VA, there are 70 GI Bill® students at YTI. Since the total enrollment at the school is 497, nearly 14.1% of students are using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. By comparison, the Student Veterans of America reports that three to four percent of college students nationwide are veterans.
Note, this figure includes all chapters of the GI Bill® program (e.g., Post-9/11, Montgomery GI Bill®, Reserve Education Assistance Program, and Veteran Readiness and Employment). It does not include any active-duty military personnel attending via Tuition Assistance, so the total military population is potentially larger. Veteran students account for 1.5% of those enrolled at YTI, per U.S. Department of Education data.
Graduation and retention rates can tell you how well a school supports its veteran students through to a degree.
