In 2020-2021, 8,098 people earned their degree in agricultural economics and business, making the major the 101st most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, agricultural economics and business graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $42,304 and had an average of $18,874 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Plains States region, there were 1,984 agricultural economics and business graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,890 and $15,768 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,011 agricultural economics and business graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,046 and $29,021 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Agricultural Business for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 15 colleges that offered a degree in agricultural economics and business. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great agricultural economics and business programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
