When pursuing a degree in today’s world, veterans have many different options to choose from. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in Massachusetts for Hospitality” ranking is part of that endeavor.

In 2020-2021, 17,689 people earned their degree in hospitality management, making the major the 66th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, hospitality management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $35,874 and had an average of $22,906 in loans still to pay off.

Across Massachusetts, there were 400 hospitality management graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,605 and $25,031 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Massachusetts for Hospitality” ranking, we looked at 18 colleges that offer a degree in hospitality management. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great hospitality management programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the hospitality management program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

UMass Amherst is a large school located in Amherst, Massachusetts that handed out 115 ’s hospitality degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at UMass Amherst, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 31,642 students enrolled at UMass Amherst, 477 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
