Out of the 4 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Taxation for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Arizona State University - Tempe landed the #1 spot on the list. Arizona State University - Tempe is a public institution located in Tempe, Arizona. The school has a large population, and it awarded 24 masters’s degrees in 2020-2021.

ASU - Tempe not only placed well in this ranking. University of North Texas is a large public school situated in Denton, Texas. It awarded 43 masters’s taxation degrees in 2020-2021.

UNT also made our “Best Taxation Master’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list, coming in at #4.Among the 40,953 students enrolled at University of North Texas, 2,038 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 1,138 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $9,999. In addition to receiving other benefits, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of North Texas does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 85%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Southern Methodist University. The school came in at #3 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Taxation for a Master’s. SMU is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Dallas, Texas. It awarded 26 masters’s taxation degrees in 2020-2021.

SMU also took the #1 spot in our “Best Taxation Master’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, SMU supports 12,373 students, and 327 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 215 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $15,612. To help with additional expenses, 103 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. SMU does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

With a freshman retention rate of 90%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. Located in Waco, Texas, this large private not-for-profit school awarded 9 diplomas to qualified masters’s taxation students in 2020-2021.

Baylor also took the #2 spot in our “Best Taxation Master’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 876 of the 19,297 students enrolled at Baylor University were GI Bill® students, of which 593 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $17,744. To help with additional expenses, 263 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 91%. The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.
