In 2019-2020, 6,960 people earned their degree in radio and television, making the major the 132nd most popular in the United States.
At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 4,593 radio and television graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value TV Schools for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 78 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in radio and television. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great radio and television programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the radio and television program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale landed the #9 spot on the 2022 Best Value TV Schools for a Bachelor’s ranking.
