2022 Best Value TV Schools for a Master’s
With all of the options students have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Best Value TV Schools for a Master’s” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2019-2020, 6,960 people earned their degree in radio and television, making the major the 132nd most popular in the United States.
At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 122 radio and television graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value TV Schools for a Master’s” ranking looked at 10 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in radio and television. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent radio and television programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the radio and television program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of North Texas. The school came in at #2 for the Best Value TV Schools for a Master’s. University of North Texas is a public institution located in Denton, Texas. The school has a large population, and it awarded 7 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
UNT did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #6 on our “Best Radio & Television Master’s Degree Schools” list. Average graduate tuition and fees at UNT are $15,618, but you may pay more or less depending on your major.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Western Illinois University. The school came in at #3 for the Best Value TV Schools for a Master’s. Western Illinois University is a medium-sized school located in Macomb, Illinois that handed out 6 masters’s TV degrees in 2019-2020.
WIU not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #8 on our “Best Radio & Television Master’s Degree Schools” list. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at WIU are $11,996.
Out of the 10 schools in the Best Value TV Schools for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, The University of Texas at Austin landed the #4 spot on the list. The University of Texas at Austin is located in Austin, Texas and, has a large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 21 masters’s TV degrees to qualified students.

Out of the 10 schools in the Best Value TV Schools for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Temple University landed the #5 spot on the list. Temple is a large public school situated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It awarded 10 masters’s TV degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Temple, the school also landed the #3 spot in our “Best Radio & Television Master’s Degree Schools” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at Temple are $24,236, but some majors have different tuition rates.
San Francisco State University landed the #6 spot on the 2022 Best Value TV Schools for a Master’s ranking. San Francisco, California is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s TV degrees to 2 students in 2019-2020.

Brooklyn College landed the #7 spot on the 2022 Best Value TV Schools for a Master’s ranking. Located in Brooklyn, New York, this fairly large public school handed out 2 diplomas to qualified masters’s TV students in 2019-2020.
