In 2020-2021, 120,571 people earned their degree in communication and journalism, making the major the 11th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, communication and journalism graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $34,266 and had an average of $24,758 in loans still to pay off.
Across Colorado, there were 2,236 communication and journalism graduates with average earnings and debt of $34,697 and $24,335 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for Communication & Journalism” ranking, we looked at 11 colleges that offer a degree in communication and journalism. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent communication and journalism programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Denver. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for Communication & Journalism list. This fairly large school is located in Denver, Colorado, and it awarded 310 ’s communication and journalism degrees in 2020-2021.
DU not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 571 of the 13,856 students enrolled at University of Denver were GI Bill® students, of which 373 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. This large school is located in Boulder, Colorado, and it awarded 741 ’s communication and journalism degrees in 2020-2021.
