Information Technology is the 42nd most popular major in the country with 40,555 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.
Across Utah, there were 3,051 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $70,099 and $26,240 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Utah for IT” ranking analyzed 4 colleges that offered a degree in information technology. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great information technology programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Most Veteran Friendly in Utah for IT

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Western Governors University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Utah for IT. Western Governors University is a large school located in Salt Lake City, Utah that handed out 2,607 ’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.
WGU also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Our most recent data shows that 8,828 of the 147,866 students enrolled at Western Governors University were GI Bill® students, of which 5,287 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $4,681. On top of their other funding sources, 1 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Utah Valley University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Utah for IT list. UVU is a public institution located in Orem, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 83 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
UVU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Of the 40,936 students enrolled at UVU, 813 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 379 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $4,550. During this same period, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Neumont also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].According to our most recent data, Neumont College of Computer Science supports 529 students, and 31 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 11 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
