It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. At College Factual, we’re committed to helping you make that decision by providing information such as that found in our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Instructional Media” ranking.
Instructional Media Design is the 98th most popular major in the country with 8,695 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, instructional media design graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $54,158 and had an average of $29,016 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 314 instructional media design graduates with average earnings and debt of $58,148 and $0 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Instructional Media” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in instructional media design. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality instructional media design programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Quinnipiac University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Instructional Media. Located in Hamden, Connecticut, this medium-sized private not-for-profit school awarded 14 diplomas to qualified ’s instructional media students in 2020-2021.
Quinnipiac did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 16 of the 9,746 students enrolled at Quinnipiac University were GI Bill® students, of which 4 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Boston College. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Instructional Media list. Located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 3 diplomas to qualified ’s instructional media students in 2020-2021.
Boston College also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 170 of the 14,934 students enrolled at Boston College were GI Bill® students, of which 100 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $17,142. During this same period, 64 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.
With a freshman retention rate of 93%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.

Orono, Maine is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s instructional media degrees to 32 students in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UMaine, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 11,741 students enrolled at University of Maine, 21 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of the 12 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Instructional Media that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Massachusetts - Boston landed the #5 spot on the list. UMass Boston is a fairly large public school situated in Boston, Massachusetts. It awarded 40 ’s instructional media degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UMass Boston, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 16,259 students enrolled at UMass Boston, 678 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Harvard University ranked #6 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Instructional Media list. Cambridge, Massachusetts is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s instructional media degrees to 124 students in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Harvard, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, Harvard University supports 30,391 students, and 304 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 254 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,012. On top of their other funding sources, 1 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.

West Hartford, Connecticut is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s instructional media degrees to 20 students in 2020-2021.
