You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Iowa State University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Engineering-Related Fields for a Master’s list. Iowa State University is a public institution located in Ames, Iowa. The school has a large population, and it awarded 19 masters’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Iowa State did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the Plains States Region” list.According to our most recent data, Iowa State supports 31,822 students, and 814 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 388 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. This large school is located in Lawrence, Kansas, and it awarded 23 masters’s engineering-related fields degrees in 2020-2021.

KU also took the #4 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the Plains States Region” ranking.Among the 26,744 students enrolled at KU, 70 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Missouri State is a large public school situated in Springfield, Missouri. It awarded 40 masters’s engineering-related fields degrees in 2020-2021.

With a ranking of #7, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology did quite well on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Engineering-Related Fields for a Master’s list. Located in Rapid City, South Dakota, this small public school awarded 15 degrees to qualified masters’s engineering-related fields students in 2020-2021.

SD Mines also took the #9 spot in our “Best Engineering-Related Fields Master’s Degree Schools in the Plains States Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 146 of the 2,475 students enrolled at SD Mines were GI Bill® students, of which 54 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $5,477. During this same period, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.
