General Engineering Technology is the 156th most popular major in the country with 4,676 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general engineering technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $53,419 and had an average of $23,567 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 2,397 general engineering technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,950 and $23,007 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Engineering Tech Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking analyzed 19 colleges that offered a degree in general engineering technology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general engineering technology programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the general engineering technology program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 19 schools in the Best Value Engineering Tech Schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Kennesaw State University landed the #3 spot on the list. Kennesaw State University is a large school located in Kennesaw, Georgia that handed out 82 ’s engineering tech degrees in 2020-2021.
