Southern Illinois University Carbondale tops the 2021 list of our schools in Illinois that are best for non-traditional engineering technologies students. SIUC is a large public school located in the city of Carbondale. As a testament to the quality of education offered at SIUC, the school also landed the #2 rank in our Best Colleges for Engineering Technologies in Illinois ranking.
About 2.4% of SIUC students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. Approximately 2,640 students take at least one class online at SIUC. About 2,629 of the students at SIUC are attending part time.

Illinois State is a fairly large public school located in the medium-sized suburb of Normal.
