This year’s “Most Well Attended Applied Engineering Major” ranking looked at 11 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in applied engineering. This ranking identifies schools that graduate the most students in applied engineering.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Ohio University - Athens Campus. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Well Attended Applied Engineering Major list. OHIO Athens is a public institution located in Athens, Ohio. The school has a large population, and it awarded 148 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Colorado Boulder. The school came in at #2 for the Most Well Attended Applied Engineering Major. CU - Boulder is a large school located in Boulder, Colorado that handed out 61 ’s applied engineering degrees in 2020-2021.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of 2.4% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 85%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Massachusetts Maritime Academy. The school came in at #3 for the Most Well Attended Applied Engineering Major. This small school is located in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, and it awarded 60 ’s applied engineering degrees in 2020-2021.
Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 87%. The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is 0.8%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.

Out of the 11 schools in the Most Well Attended Applied Engineering Major that were part of this year’s ranking, Millersville University of Pennsylvania landed the #4 spot on the list. This medium-sized school is located in Millersville, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 46 ’s applied engineering degrees in 2020-2021.
The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only 4.3%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Georgia Southern University. The school came in at #5 for the Most Well Attended Applied Engineering Major. Located in Statesboro, Georgia, this large public school awarded 9 degrees to qualified ’s applied engineering students in 2020-2021.
University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth did quite well in the 2023 Most Well Attended Applied Engineering Major ranking, coming in at #6. UMass Dartmouth is located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 4 ’s applied engineering degrees to qualified students.
