American Sign Language (ASL) is the 551st most popular major in the country with 935 degrees awarded in 2020-2021.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for ASL” ranking, we looked at 10 colleges that offer a degree in American Sign Language (ASL). Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent American Sign Language (ASL) programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the American Sign Language (ASL) program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 10 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly for ASL that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Rochester landed the #1 spot on the list. University of Rochester is a fairly large school located in Rochester, New York that handed out 8 ’s ASL degrees in 2020-2021.

University of Rochester also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, University of Rochester supports 11,741 students, and 7 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 3 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Liberty University is located in Lynchburg, Virginia and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 19 ’s ASL degrees to qualified students.

Liberty University not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Among the 93,349 students enrolled at Liberty University, 13,282 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Houston. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly for ASL list. University of Houston is a public institution located in Houston, Texas. The school has a large population, and it awarded 12 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our vets studying asl list, UH has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 47,090 students enrolled at UH, 1,382 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. WSU also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 29,596 students enrolled at Weber State University, 747 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 472 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $4,815. Utah Valley University came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly for ASL ranking. Located in Orem, Utah, this large public school awarded 29 diplomas to qualified ’s ASL students in 2020-2021.

UVU not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Of the 40,936 students enrolled at Utah Valley University, 813 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 379 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $4,550. In addition to receiving other benefits, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.
