With 322,592 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, nursing is the 3rd most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $70,916 and had an average of $25,426 in loans still to pay off.

Across Kentucky, there were 6,395 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $65,824 and $26,802 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 2,530 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,941 and $26,734 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Kentucky for Nursing for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 19 colleges that offered a degree in nursing. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent nursing programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
