In 2020-2021, 7,984 people earned their degree in other health professions, making the major the 102nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, other health professions graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,061 and had an average of $24,616 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 218 other health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,105 and $18,880 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 28 other health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Southern Methodist University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Health Professions for a Bachelor’s list. This fairly large school is located in Dallas, Texas, and it awarded 27 bachelors’s health professions degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our southwest region bachelor’s degree vets studying health professions list, SMU has also earned the #1 rank in our “Best Other Health Professions Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 327 of the 12,373 students enrolled at SMU were GI Bill® students, of which 215 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $15,612. During this same period, 103 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. SMU does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
