Mathematics is the 35th most popular major in the country with 30,202 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, mathematics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,168 and had an average of $21,863 in loans still to pay off.

Across Rhode Island, there were 113 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $49,643 and $23,871 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 85 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,833 and $24,930 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent mathematics programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Brown University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Rhode Island for Math for a Bachelor’s list. Brown is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Providence, Rhode Island. It awarded 16 bachelors’s math degrees in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our rhode island bachelor’s degree vets studying math list, Brown has also earned the #1 rank in our “Best Mathematics Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Rhode Island” ranking.Among the 9,948 students enrolled at Brown University, 98 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Rhode Island. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Rhode Island for Math for a Bachelor’s list. Located in Kingston, Rhode Island, this fairly large public school handed out 33 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s math students in 2020-2021.

URI also took the #2 spot in our “Best Mathematics Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Rhode Island” ranking.According to our most recent data, URI supports 17,649 students, and 381 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 187 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $10,022. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. URI does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
