You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Denver. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Natural Resources Management and Policy for a Master’s list. Located in Denver, Colorado, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 137 degrees to qualified masters’s natural resources management and policy students in 2020-2021.

DU also made our “Best Environmental/Natural Resources Management and Policy Master’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” list, coming in at #1.Of the 13,856 students enrolled at DU, 571 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 373 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $12,359. To help with additional expenses, 155 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Out of the 3 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Natural Resources Management and Policy for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Colorado State University - Fort Collins landed the #2 spot on the list. Fort Collins, Colorado is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s natural resources management and policy degrees to 22 students in 2020-2021.

Colorado State also took the #2 spot in our “Best Environmental/Natural Resources Management and Policy Master’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,606 of the 32,428 students enrolled at Colorado State University - Fort Collins were GI Bill® students, of which 1,183 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $10,701. In addition to receiving other benefits, 68 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Colorado State University - Fort Collins does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%. With a freshman retention rate of 85%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students.

Out of the 3 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Natural Resources Management and Policy for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Idaho landed the #3 spot on the list. U of I is a public institution located in Moscow, Idaho. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 25 masters’s degrees in 2020-2021.

U of I also took the #3 spot in our “Best Environmental/Natural Resources Management and Policy Master’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 382 of the 10,791 students enrolled at University of Idaho were GI Bill® students, of which 248 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,784. On top of their other funding sources, 29 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
