In 2019-2020, parks, recreation, leisure, and fitness studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,423 and had an average of $24,388 in loans still to pay off.

Across Massachusetts, there were 1,210 parks, recreation, leisure, and fitness studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,408 and $25,263 respectively.

Endicott College is a private not-for-profit institution located in Beverly, Massachusetts. The school has a small population, and it awarded 26 masters’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Endicott also made our “Best Parks, Recreation, Leisure, & Fitness Studies Master’s Degree Schools in Massachusetts” list, coming in at #3.According to our most recent data, Endicott supports 4,287 students, and 124 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 68 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. UMass Amherst is a large school located in Amherst, Massachusetts that handed out 15 masters’s parks and rec degrees in 2020-2021.

UMass Amherst also made our “Best Parks, Recreation, Leisure, & Fitness Studies Master’s Degree Schools in Massachusetts” list, coming in at #2.Of the 31,642 students enrolled at University of Massachusetts Amherst, 477 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 252 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,295. During this same period, 21 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of Massachusetts Amherst does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 89%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year. The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. Newton, Massachusetts is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s parks and rec degrees to 33 students in 2020-2021.

Lasell also took the #4 spot in our “Best Parks, Recreation, Leisure, & Fitness Studies Master’s Degree Schools in Massachusetts” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 58 of the 1,951 students enrolled at Lasell were GI Bill® students, of which 29 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,225. During this same period, 8 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Springfield, Massachusetts is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s parks and rec degrees to 16 students in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Western New England, the school also landed the #6 spot in our “Best Parks, Recreation, Leisure, & Fitness Studies Master’s Degree Schools in Massachusetts” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 81 of the 3,673 students enrolled at Western New England were GI Bill® students, of which 37 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $12,271. On top of their other funding sources, 13 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
