When it comes to choosing a college, students have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Most Well Attended Clinical Psychology Major in the Southwest Region for a Bachelor’s” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 33,758 people earned their degree in clinical, counseling and applied psychology, making the major the 33rd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, clinical, counseling and applied psychology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $47,894 and had an average of $30,175 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 3,117 clinical, counseling and applied psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $51,069 and $24,608 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 422 clinical, counseling and applied psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.
This year’s “Most Well Attended Clinical Psychology Major in the Southwest Region for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 12 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in clinical, counseling and applied psychology. This ranking identifies schools that graduate the most students in clinical, counseling and applied psychology.

Out of the 12 schools in the Most Well Attended Clinical Psychology Major in the Southwest Region for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Mary Hardin - Baylor landed the #2 spot on the list. UMHB is located in Belton, Texas and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 48 bachelors’s clinical psychology degrees to qualified students.
Out of the 12 schools in the Most Well Attended Clinical Psychology Major in the Southwest Region for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of North Texas landed the #3 spot on the list. Denton, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s clinical psychology degrees to 32 students in 2020-2021.
The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 85%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.

Out of the 12 schools in the Most Well Attended Clinical Psychology Major in the Southwest Region for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Aspen University landed the #4 spot on the list. Aspen University is located in Denver, Colorado and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 26 bachelors’s clinical psychology degrees to qualified students.
The undergraduate student-to-faculty ratio of 8 to 1 is a sign that students will have more opportunities to engage with their professors one-on-one.
