General Psychology is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 3rd of all the majors we analyze. In 2018-2019, 108,627 bachelor's degrees were awarded to students with this major.
For this year's Best General Psychology Colleges for Veterans in the United States ranking, we looked at 775 colleges that offer a bachelor's in psychology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general psychology programs as well as strong veteran support.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the general psychology program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Top 25 Most Veteran Friendly General Psychology Schools
Our rankings recognize Walden University as the #1 school in this year's rankings. Walden University is a fairly large private for-profit school located in the city of Minneapolis.
Our most recent data shows that 2,657 of the 50,360 students enrolled at Walden University were GI Bill® students, of which 1,791 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for these recipients was $8,191. In addition to receiving other benefits, 17 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Walden University does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Capella University landed the #2 spot in our 2021 rankings for best value general psychology schools. Located in the city of Minneapolis, Capella University is a private for-profit college with a very large student population.
Of the 37,171 students enrolled at Capella University, 2,741 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 2,001 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Our most recent data shows that 896 of the 41,200 students enrolled at UMCP were GI Bill® students, of which 672 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
