General Psychology is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 4th of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 141,695 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, general psychology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $30,326 and had an average of $26,018 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Plains States region, there were 8,701 general psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,524 and $28,616 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Psychology” ranking, we looked at 87 colleges that offer a degree in general psychology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent general psychology programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
