In 2020-2021, 141,695 general psychology students received their degree, making the major the 4th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, general psychology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $30,326 and had an average of $26,018 in loans still to pay off.

Across Iowa, there were 1,275 general psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,609 and $33,595 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Iowa for Psychology” ranking looked at 17 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in general psychology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general psychology programs as well as strong veteran support.
