Social Sciences is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 5th of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 205,984 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, social sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $36,262 and had an average of $23,306 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 14,741 social sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,797 and $22,656 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Social Sciences” ranking analyzed 46 colleges that offered a degree in social sciences. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality social sciences programs as well as strong veteran support.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the social sciences program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

TCU is a private not-for-profit institution located in Fort Worth, Texas. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 244 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
TCU did well in our major quality rankings, too.
