Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Community Organization” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
Community Organization & Advocacy is the 227th most popular major in the country with 3,096 degrees awarded in 2020-2021.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 566 community organization and advocacy graduates with average earnings and debt of $0 and $0 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Community Organization” ranking, we looked at 13 colleges that offer a degree in community organization and advocacy. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great community organization and advocacy programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the community organization and advocacy program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Out of the 13 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Community Organization that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor landed the #1 spot on the list. Ann Arbor, Michigan is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s community organization degrees to 45 students in 2020-2021.
U-M did well in our major quality rankings, too.
