In 2020-2021, 4,119 people earned their degree in Biblical studies, making the major the 146th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, Biblical studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $28,790 and had an average of $26,342 in loans still to pay off.
For this year’s “Best Value Bible Schools” ranking, we looked at 70 colleges that offer a degree in Biblical studies. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality Biblical studies programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

Out of the 70 schools in the Best Value Bible Schools that were part of this year’s ranking, Moody Bible Institute landed the #1 spot on the list. Moody Theological Seminary and Graduate School is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Chicago, Illinois. It awarded 153 ’s Bible degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Moody Theological Seminary and Graduate School, the school also landed the #1 spot in our “Best Biblical Studies Schools” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for Moody Theological Seminary and Graduate School is $19,679 for bible students.

Out of the 70 schools in the Best Value Bible Schools that were part of this year’s ranking, Liberty University landed the #3 spot on the list. Located in Lynchburg, Virginia, this large private not-for-profit school awarded 250 diplomas to qualified ’s Bible students in 2020-2021.
Liberty University not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #14 on our “Best Biblical Studies Schools” list. The estimated yearly cost for Liberty University is $29,382 for bible students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Johnson University. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Best Value Bible Schools list. Johnson University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The school has a small population, and it awarded 165 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
