Out of the 3 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Sacred Music for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Dallas Baptist University landed the #1 spot on the list. Dallas, Texas is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s sacred music degrees to 9 students in 2020-2021.

It is also #3 on our “Best Sacred Music Master’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list.According to our most recent data, Dallas Baptist University supports 4,247 students, and 200 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 150 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $14,924. In addition to receiving other benefits, 39 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Dallas, Texas is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s sacred music degrees to 2 students in 2020-2021.

SMU also took the #2 spot in our “Best Sacred Music Master’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, Southern Methodist University supports 12,373 students, and 327 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 215 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $15,612. To help with additional expenses, 103 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Southern Methodist University does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. With a freshman retention rate of 90%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students.

In addition to being on our southwest region master’s degree vets studying sacred music list, Baylor has also earned the #1 rank in our “Best Sacred Music Master’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 876 of the 19,297 students enrolled at Baylor were GI Bill® students, of which 593 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $17,744. During this same period, 263 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

With a freshman retention rate of 91%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.
