Our analysis found Michigan State University to be the best school for Bahamian students in the Great Lakes Region in this year’s ranking. Located in East Lansing, Michigan, the large public school handed out 9,450 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.

International students make up 9.1% of the total student body at the school. Students from as far away as China, South Korea, and India come to Michigan State to study.

With a freshman retention rate of 91%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its students.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Taylor University. The school came in at #2 in this year’s ranking. Taylor U is a private not-for-profit institution located in Upland, Indiana. The school has a small population, and it awarded 441 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.

International students make up 2.4% of the total student body at the school. Students from as far away as South Korea, Bahamas, and China come to Taylor U to study.

With a freshman retention rate of 89%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its students.

A rank of #3 on our list means Beloit College is a great place for Bahamian students in the Great Lakes Region working on their bachelor’s degree. Beloit, Wisconsin is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 325 students in 2020-2021.

Out of the 10 schools in the Great Lakes Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Andrews University landed the #4 spot on the list. Andrews is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Berrien Springs, Michigan. It awarded 347 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Of the total number of students at the school, 23.4% are international. The top three countries sending students to study at Andrews are South Korea, Canada, and Brazil.

Kent State University at Kent landed the #7 spot on the 2021 Best Colleges for Bahamian Students in the Great Lakes Region. Kent State is located in Kent, Ohio and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 5,120 bachelor’s degrees to qualified undergraduates.
