Worcester Polytechnic Institute tops this year’s ranking as the best school for Jamaican students in the New England Region. Located in Worcester, Massachusetts, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school awarded 1,143 diplomas to qualified bachelor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
Around 14.5% of the total student population at the school is international. Students from as far away as China, India, and Vietnam come to WPI to study.
With a freshman retention rate of 95%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its students.

The excellent bachelor’s degree programs at Northeastern University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best schools for Jamaican students in the New England Region. This large private not-for-profit school is located in Boston, Massachusetts, and it awarded 4,358 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 29.2% of the total student population at the school is international. Students from as far away as China, India, and Taiwan come to Northeastern to study.
Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 97%.

A rank of #3 on our list means Dartmouth College is a great place for Jamaican students in the New England Region working on their bachelor’s degree. Dartmouth is located in Hanover, New Hampshire and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 1,384 bachelor’s degrees to qualified undergraduates.
Of the total number of students at the school, 15.6% are international. Students from as far away as China, India, and Canada come to Dartmouth to study.

Out of the 14 schools in the New England Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Bentley University landed the #4 spot on the list. Located in Waltham, Massachusetts, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 1,123 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
International students make up 17.1% of the total student body at the school. Students studying at Bentley come from such countries as China, India, and Venezuela.

The excellent bachelor’s degree programs at Wesleyan University helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the best schools for Jamaican students in the New England Region. Wesleyan U is located in Middletown, Connecticut and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 1,039 bachelor’s degrees to qualified undergraduates.
Of the total number of students at the school, 12.3% are international. The top three countries sending students to study at Wesleyan U are China, India, and Canada.
Since the school has a student-to-faculty ratio of 8 to 1, those pursuing a bachelor’s degree will have more opportunities to interact with their professors.

Harvard University ranked #6 on this year’s Best Colleges for Jamaican Students in the New England Region list. Harvard is a large private not-for-profit school situated in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It awarded 1,618 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
International students make up 22.9% of the total student body at the school. The top three countries sending students to study at Harvard are China, Canada, and India.
The student-to-faculty ratio of 5 to 1 is a sign that students will have more opportunities to engage with their professors one-on-one.
