A large number of veterans attending a college means the college and faculty are more used to supporting and accommodating the needs of those with prior military experience. Per VA data, there are 22 GI Bill® students at CSB. Because the school enrolls 1,392, roughly 1.6% of the student body is using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. To put that into context, the Student Veterans of America estimates that roughly three to four percent of all U.S. college students are veterans.
This number includes all chapters of the GI Bill®, such as Post-9/11, the Montgomery GI Bill®, the Reserve Education Assistance Program, and Veteran Readiness and Employment. Active-duty military using Tuition Assistance are excluded, so the actual military population may be bigger.
