What You’ll Find in Our Veterans Report on SMC:
A sizable veteran community on campus is often a sign that a school knows how to support students with a military background. Based on VA records, there are 70 GI Bill® students at SMC. Since the total enrollment at the school is 2,024, nearly 3.5% of those enrolled are using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. To put that into context, the Student Veterans of America estimates that roughly three to four percent of all U.S. college students are veterans.
This number includes all chapters of the GI Bill®, such as Post-9/11, the Montgomery GI Bill®, the Reserve Education Assistance Program, and Veteran Readiness and Employment.
